I agree with a lot of this. The novel was more emotionally impactful and Killian shone beautifully. But I do like that the work Edith did to gain the support of the secondary characters bore fruit in this version, it was something I found frustrating in the novel, it was the one weakness of the author yet in the end it did very little for Edith. The approach of both was different though. I feel like in the novel version they remained in a book story until the end. The author lost the power to modify the story, and Edith and Killian gained Main Character vibes but the plot remained somewhat immutable except for those two, everyone else kept falling back into their role in the original story every time even without the author intervening (which worked great, it was built into the story as a whole, in case anyone thinks this would be a weakness of the novel, it's not. It also made Edith's desperation that much more, and it explained why previous Edith's had such a hard time breaking out, because it was literally impossible to do so completely). This manwha version feels more as if the world is slowly getting more anchored into reality, the plot is eroding, and soon only Ryse and Cliff will still be a part of it, which I'm not angry about either, it's a good turn of events. I do feel like the last few chapters have been a little weird (the kidnapping bit wasn't nearly as impactfull as the novel) but I like this approach too.I'm not sure which I prefer, they both have good points.
