Left to himself at an early age in the slummiest parts of today’s Japan, Kiichi learns how to survive on his own. As a teenager, how can he adapt to a society whose rules he rejects? Unless he creates his own rules… Just like in The World Is Mine, the other series by Hideki Arai, the satirical author levels a violent and exhilarating accusation against the contemporary hypocrisy and stupidity with a malevolent jubilation. Kiichi, a raw icon of strength and integrity, stands alone against the world’s injustice and becomes an unforgettable character. –Angoulême Festival Catalog 2007 (Official Selection)

Mantaro's only hope: form a team that's even wilder. Lazy and cowardly, Mantaro sure doesn't look like the universe's last great hope, but when something upsets him - like, say, EVIL - he busts out in muscles just like his old man! The only possible result is earthshaking, body-slamming, ultimate-powered action that sends our entire planet sailing over the top rope!

An independent collection of short stories— Ultramarine Schooldays highlights the color that evokes faithful memories, tenderness, and melancholy. These stories take place in Japan and in the West, in the past and in the present. They may involve a romance in the city, an energizing walk in the forest, the daily mundane life of a waitress working in a café, or a medieval intrigue; but what connects these stories are the powerful messages they deliver.
The lead character, Jimmy (Katsuya Oonishi) is an art student at Bara-Gaku ('Bara Juuji Gakuin'; Rose-Cross Academy). When he was little, he almost fell to death, but was saved by a tattoo artist. From that day, Jimmy vowed to become a tattoo artist (because tattoos signify 'a hero' to him).
Jimmy's a decent person by nature, but because of the people he hangs out with, he's considered a delinquent. Banko, his partner-in-crime, is a shrewd kid; he sells information on the popular girls (phone numbers, likes and dislikes, etc) in the area. Despite the delinquent exterior, Banko is actually really smart and has broad general knowledge.
As the story progresses, Jimmy and Banko meet new people and they form a gang of their own; along the way they bump heads with other gangs from other schools/districts. This manga is not the typical highschool-slice-of-life story; it's got a rougher edge! This manga depicts some high school delinquents trying to get through high school life and gang fights. Okay no, mostly just gang fights.
After his father died, Naruse Akira retreated into video games, and his mother retreated into alcohol. Naruse plays games almost all the time, getting him in trouble at his private school and worrying his childhood friend Hoju. He's incredibly good at war games because he is good at reading his opponents. One day, he ends up downloading a strange game called "Revolt" onto his phone. It's a game that has him orchestrate a revolution, and the graphics seem incredibly life-like. At the end, he learns that he was actually giving real-world orders, and that the game was part of a scouting process for a company that helps to run revolutions. Now they want him to be their commander and help them save the world.
The young man Huey took over the old mansion of his deceased bibliomanic grand father as well as the book collection that’s stored in there. But there was a condition: he also had to inherit the “Bibliotheca“.
When he inspects the mansion, Huey discovers a cellar filled with piled up books. In the midst of them he comes across a black-dressed girl who’s silently reading a book. She’s called Dalian and has a big lock hanging in front of her. She herself is the entrance to the “Bibliotheca of Dantalian“ which contains the prohibited “Phantom Books“.
Chitose is a 11 year old girl. She's madly in love with an older guy that works at the town hall right next to the school, Hiroshi, and spends her days relentlessly pursuing him. Tons of slapstick follows.
Fergus is an apprentice fashion designer who hates his life. His master is a drunk, the love of his life is a street whore, and the only model willing to buy his clothes is a fat drug popper. While attending to his "model" at a game of War-King, a competition of beauty and fighting prowess, Fergus is treated to the sight of a real fashion model who easily dispenses of Fergus' model. Fergus then sinks into deeper despair now knowing the huge gap that lies between him and the top brands. To make matters worse, his master collapses and is hospitalized that same day. Just when he wonders if life can get any worse, fate conveniently presents to him a long-lost twin sister, Jennifer.
Based on the game of the same name, this manga takes the events from the game and puts them in the point of view of the heroine(s) Touko Fukawa and Genocider Syo!

Takagi and Kanemura are two normal high school students in a near-future Japan where many things we'd find unusual are taken in stride. Technology has evolved to the point where items like face-blurring necklaces, sleep-control devices, and Willy Wonka-ish, meal-flavored gum are common fads. New services also dot the landscape, such as businesses that can help you reclaim memories and places that can upload dead people to the internet to continue living their lives in virtual reality. The two girls treat encounters with androids, strange monsters, and aliens as somewhat normal occurrences. Dainana Joshikai Houkou is a fantastical slice of futuristic life that proves that, while society can change, people tend to stay the same.
