While testing his 8 mm camera at night in his small town, Kaito Kirishima is caught in a mysterious explosion. Strangely, Kaito wakes up the next day perfectly fine, but with no recollection of what exactly happened the day before. Unfazed by what seems to have been just a dream, he heads to school not giving much thought to the incident. Discussing his camera with his friends, they decide to make a movie during summer break. They invite two upperclassmen to participate in the project: the recently arrived Ichika Takatsuki and the odd Remon Yamano. In a strange twist of fate, Ichika starts living with Kaito because his sister has to work overseas. Summer days are about to get exciting for the small film crew.

Gluttony takes Alphonse to meet Father, but Ling turns right into a homunculus, specifically the newest avatar of Greed, when the others escape from the belly of Gluttony. The Elrics are released to continue their pursuit provided that Father isn't opposed by them.

The storyline follows Medaka Kurokami, a magnetic and appealing first year Hakoniwa Academy pupil who's elected Student Council President with 98% of the vote. Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsuna Koto, at the very least, has amazing art. Yoshizuki Kumichi's art grabs you right away, especially the stunning color pages. Even more impressive is that this is his first serialized manga outing. This is also scriptwriter Yamada Norie's first manga script and while not as immediately stunning as Yoshizuki's art, it quickly becomes apparent that the characters have more depth than they let on to at first glance. While the story may seem far-fetched and fantastical, the daily life of Yume is surprisingly mundane. Don't mistake this for an action fantasy, Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsuna Koto is firmly planted in character drama. If that's your thing, you're sure to love this manga. (taken from manganews)
