Summary
In Shanghai in 1914, many forces had gathered to fight for their own interests. This included warlords, the Japanese, the old Qing court, colonial concessions and gangs. The survivor, Xia Sheng, also came to Shanghai to find the enemy in Tucun. With his strong detective instincts and Feng Xichen as his companion, they will solve multiple cases and identify the true culprits whilst trying to solve a mystery of their own.
To seriously start crap like that in the middle of "the slums" and their gangs... gangs that get along with each other now, but are still considered armed and dangerous in the rest of the city? Were those dark guild guys looking to get "disappeared" spouting about how badass they are and what they're going to do to everyone there? Safe to say no one would ever see them again... and considering how they stone-walled the guards and the MC's old party, no one around there would have recalled ever seeing them in the first place.
