The way it's portrayed is terrible and terribly lackluster. In the novel, she was actually half delirious and still in pain, so it was hard for her to think straight. She was also emotionally and mentally spent. And she actually made the decision to turn herself in after considering for days/weeks in front of a possible escape route, all while watching guards combing through the city for her. Her physical state in the novel was so bad that the guards didn't recognize her or even thought the bruised faced, scruffy, and limping person could possibly be her, and she actually had to convince them it was her. That was also why she wasn't caught/found for so long, besides remaining hidden. Also missing from the manhwa is the constant feeling of hopelessness and tiredness of struggling to go against the author/story. Plus, another point of her decision to turn herself in was that she came to love him so much for his gentleness and kindness that she thought if she was destined to die, she wanted it to be by his hand as per the original story becauseat least she would be rememberedand she got to see him one last time. It was meant to be a point of tragedy for her. This manhwa portrayal actually took all of that depth out of her character, situation, and feelings and I'm both annoyed and glad I went to read the novel and found out about this Shamalan-Avatar level of bs adaptation effort.
