Summary
“She was inhumanly beautiful.” Yuzuki Kugu was born as one of twin shrine maidens into a family that has inherited the power of purification for generations. Marked by a dragon-shaped birthmark on her back, Yuzuki possessed abilities far surpassing those of her younger sister, Mizuki. Yet her existence was concealed, and she was cruelly mistreated. While Mizuki posed as the true shrine maiden princess, gaining the villagers’ devotion, Yuzuki was used merely as a tool for her power. Exhausted by this life, Yuzuki longed for freedom, quietly drawn to the mysterious voice she had heard since childhood. When she realizes that her wish will never be granted, her despair seems to answer a terrible call. A curse god in the form of a sky-covering dragon descends upon the village. Forced to be offered as a sacrifice, fragments of memories from her past life flash through her mind. Then the Dragon God appears before her in human form and holds her close. “I will never let you go again. You are my one and only bride.” The true shrine maiden princess, offered as a sacrifice in place of her sister. From despair awakens the promise made between dragon god and bride in a past life, and the miracle it brings forth.
