A tale of human emotion set in the Edo period, centered around Yukinari, an executioner, and the people around him. In this era, most criminals faced execution. One day, Saichiro, the son of a town doctor, witnesses Yukinari executing a criminal. Later, Saichiro sees Yukinari ignoring the pleas of the criminal's family.
